Oh, To Be Set Free ..

Have you ever hungered to be set free … tired of carrying such deep wounds, anger, bitterness?  How often we feel a weight and don’t even know what to call it!  Is it a never-ending sadness, cynicism, bitterness, …  what is it in your life?

There were years when I carried this huge weight of anger and unforgiveness. But, most of those years I was in denial ~ and though my actions may have showed rage ~ I was convinced I had life, and myself, well under control.  Nothing could have been farther from the truth.

 for I see that your bitterness has poisoned you and
evil has you in chains”  Acts 8:23 (CEB)

Others may well have understood I was poisoned by bitterness and bound, but not I ~ until events/circumstances brought me to my knees, and I made a choice to hand it all over to God ~ and with that, I received His unconditional love and freedom!  Oh, by God’s grace and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, I am free!

You can be too!!

When I see that deep hurt in others, I so desperately want to share how they can be free as well.  But often times … like I was back then … eyes are blinded, hearts hardened and not open to this gift!  (“…among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God…” 2 Corinthians 4:4 (AMP)

To all th0se hurting, whether by people, events or even church … please know there is help.  Know this to be true:

God loves you so very much, just where you’re at ~ no matter what is going on.  He is not angry, His arms are reaching out to you!  He simply wants your willingness to reach out to Him and ask for help!

God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet … God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, he’s rich in love. He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold, nor hold grudges forever. He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, nor pay us back in full for our wrongs. As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear (in awe of) him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins. Psalm 103:6-18 MSG

I distinctly remember the day I began the journey of healing … oh, that you may allow His Love in, beginning today!  I encourage you to pray this prayer, and receive His pure love and freedom:

Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and that my sin separates me from You.  I realize that I can’t do anything to earn my way into heaven.  I believe that Jesus took the punishment for my sins by dying on the cross and coming back to life. Today I accept Him as my Savior and Lord.  Thank You for forgiving me and saving me now. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

God’s Love and Blessings to you,

Time flies by so quickly.  Thanksgiving, our grandson’s birthday, Christmas, New Year’s Eve/Day, work and life ~ all passed in a flash, and the blog I’d planned for mid November, still rolls through my thought process.  And, meanwhile there are so many new thoughts, memories and ideas jumping on board.  So, first of all …Greetings!

Happy, Blessed, Healthy and Prosperous New Year
to one and all!!

As I take a breath this morning, think back at the last couple months of blessings and joy ~ activity and accomplishments, I can’t help but be grateful to God.  To know how much He loves us, provides, and attends to all that concerns us!

Which brings me to my most favorite recent memory ~ Christmas Eve ~ the time when we are blessed with our children and grandchildren all together in our home!  Ahhh!

Vincent, who just turned 3 likes saying grace with Grampy and Grammy, ending with a resounding AMEN after he hears ‘in the Name of Jesus.’  Christmas Eve (and much to my joyful surprise), my daughter-in-law said that Vincent had been singing Happy Birthday to Jesus during the day.  So, Grammy … remembering she had a cake in the frig, asked the grandchildren if they’d like to have cake and sing happy birthday to Jesus!  They jumped for joy.  Little Emma ran to put the candles in the cake, and once lit and surrounded by the grandchildren, we paraded from the kitchen to the living room singing.  So innocent, so precious, so wondrously special to Grampy and Grammy ~ recognizing the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ ~ the reason for the season.

So as we begin this new year afresh, no matter what goes on around us, I pray your focus stays on your most precious gift  ~ Jesus!  The Gift that brings you unconditional love, forgiveness, salvation, restoration, peace, joy and eternity with God!  To really know Him!!!

“[For my determined purpose is]
that I may know Him
[that I may progressively become more deeply and
intimately acquainted with Him,
perceiving and recognizing and understanding
the wonders  of His Person
more strongly and more clearly],
and that I may in that same way come to know the power
outflowing from His resurrection..”
Philippians 3:10 (Amplified)

In your heart believe …

From The Heart_4C

Do you remember when you humbly came to God, crying out for Him?  Your heart may have been broken, empty, lost, lonely, scared … all you knew, is that you were yearning to fill that hole deep within you, you wanted something more ~ peace, wholeness, healing.  Do you remember that humble moment when you surrendered your heart to God …  no matter how ugly your past, you asked Jesus to be your Lord ~ forgiving you and beginning life anew.  Oh, what a glorious day!

That moment required childlike faith, and came with absolute belief from your heart!!

“… if you acknowledge and confess with your lips
that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe
(adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth)
that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart a person believes
(adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ)
and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God),
and with the mouth he confesses
(declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and
confirms [his] salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 Amplified

Think of it ~ you are declared righteous [in right standing] and acceptable to God ~ no matter what your past!  All because you came with an open and humble heart ~ believing ~ adhering to, trusting in, and relying on the truth!  I pray you have that peaceful assurance that starts with the basic … in your heart believe!

 And, whatever you may face today, remember to go back to basics ~ to that childlike faith in God, in His goodness, in His unconditional love ~ and in your heart believe!

God’s Love and Blessings,

Love ~ giving and receiving

When we receive God’s forgiveness and unconditional love for the first time … and that love continues to grow in us, we can’t help but want to pour it out to others, right?  I find that today, having received God’s forgiveness for my own sins/mistakes, and allowing Him to heal my heart, I have more love to give than ever before in my life ~ this love just wants to bubble out of me; even though I fully understand I have a lot more to learn about love!  🙂

But, just because God’s love is bubbling out of me, doesn’t always mean it is received by others.  Have you ever experienced that?  Acting and speaking in love, but having that love pushed away, mocked or sadly, not received?  It’s heart breaking because we understand that the inability to receive loves comes from past hurt, disappointment or brokenness in their lives!  This understanding gives us reason to keep praying and believing for healing in their lives ~ for softening of their hearts to receive God’s amazing, pure love and forgiveness!  Oh, the freedom that comes with that love!

But it also gives reason why we need to be very careful that our talk matches our walk.
heart pic  Important that we continue checking our heart to make sure we are loving with a pure heart ~ only possible because of God’s love in us.

Think about what 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 (The Message) says:

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy …. but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.

If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere.

So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up;
Love cares more for others than for self;
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have;
Love doesn’t strut;
Doesn’t have a swelled head;
Love doesn’t force itself on others;
Love isn’t always “me first”;
Love doesn’t fly off the handle;
Love doesn’t keep score of the sins of others;
Love doesn’t revel when others grovel;
Love doesn’t take pleasure in the flowering of truth;
Love puts up with anything.

Love trusts God always;

Love always looks for the best;
Love never looks back;
Love keeps going to the end.

I encourage you to keep checking your heart ~ asking the Lord to reveal the areas that still need healing in your own heart.  And, as you grow in love, keep loving in action and in word.

“Let everything you do be done in love (true love to God and man as inspired by God’s love for us).” 1 Corinthians 16:14

God’s Love and Blessings,

Cross the bridge to Victory….

As we come to end of this series, ‘You ARE God’s Masterpiece’, let’s look back ~ remember and rehearse ~  why we have the right and ability to see ourselves as God sees us ~ His Masterpiece!

Take a moment and allow God’s love to flow through you, as you remember:

  • God loves you!  He forgives you, redeems you, beautifies, dignifies and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy!  As far as the east is from the west, He no longer remembers your sin. (Psalm 103 ~ your benefit package)
  • God sculpted you from nothing into something; He knows you inside and out; His thoughts of you outnumber the grains of sand! (Psalm 139:13-18)
  • He created you in His image and likeness; and then breathed the breath or spirit of life into you!  (Genesis 1:26; 2:7)
  • You are a new creation, because of Jesus’ sacrifice for you. The old is passed away.   (2 Corinthians 5:17; 21)
  • Jesus redeemed you from ALL of the curses (Deuteronomy 28:15-68); and made you righteous [in right standing] ~ able to stand in front of the Father God without a sense of guilt, condemnation or inferiority!!
  • You are not abandoned, but chosen by God! (Galatians 4:4-7)
  • You are a child of the Most High God. (1 John 3:1)
  • Nothing can get between you and God’s love, because of Jesus.  (Romans 8:31-39)
  • God sent His Son, Jesus, to walk this earth.  Jesus experienced all the emotions and pain you face today ~ HE understands and walks with you, no matter what you face!

His love is so personal and real, and intended for all who choose to receive it.   You’ve crossed the bridge to victory when you receive God’s unconditional love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.  See yourself through the eyes of God and hear His truths, instead of that which diminished you in past history!  See yourself anew ~ the mighty workmanship/masterpiece God created you to be!

“For we are God’s Masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”  Ephesians 2:10 NLT

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  They are for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

His Unfailing Love ~ Peace

Let us rest for a moment …. wrap our hearts and minds around how much God loves us ~ how precious we are in His sight!
Remember how God intricately created you ~ you’re not a mistake;
Remember how He forgave you ~ no longer remembering your past … and
Remember how He crowns you with His loving kindness and tender mercy.
Allow yourself … to receive in your spirit, His unfailing, unconditional love toward you … and … know the overwhelming peace that only He can give you!
There is a song sung by Kari Jobe called ‘The More I Seek You’ and the lyrics are:
“The more I seek you,
The more I find you.
The more I find you, the more I love you.
I wanna sit at your feet,
Drink from the cup in your hand,
Lay back against you and breath, feel your heart beat.
This love is so deep, it’s more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it’s overwhelming.”
 Ahhh …. sit back for a moment today, lean into the love and peace God offers you through Jesus Christ.  See yourself through His eyes ~ You are His Masterpiece!

From the Heart

Remember, Rehearse, Renew …

Picking up where we left off last week … “When Jesus is Lord in your life, you are renewed and made whole again.” In order to be renewed, we must remember throughout each day God’s thoughts and promises toward us.  Because each day we face those times when we can lose our balance and allow doubt, fear, confusion ~ you name it ~ to enter our thinking.  And, if we give a moment to listen to the lie, and then dwell on it, we ultimately begin to believe it, and finally we act on it!  What did we hear and dwell on this past week that came from the thief?

Remember and rehearse God’s truthsrehearse them every day!  Research shows that it takes 21 days to develop a habit.  So, if we learn what God says in His Word and rehearse it over and over again … we’ll renew our old, destructive thinking!

Before we move forward next week to a more in-depth look of how God sees us, let’s rehearse what we’ve read over the past few blogs and allow God’s truth to penetrate, fill us again with HIS LOVE and renew our thinking!  Remember, Rehearse, Renew!

Psalm 139:13-18 …

  • God formed your inward parts; … HE knit you in your mother’s womb…. Wonderful are your works oh Lord…
  • God saw your unformed substance, and in HIS book, all the days of your life were written before ever they took shape!
  • How precious and weighty are HIS thoughts toward you.  How vast is the sum of them!  If you could count them, they would be more in number than the sand!
Psalm 103:2-4, 10-12, 17-18 … Your benefit package …
  • HE forgives every one of all your iniquities (pardons, spares);
  • HE heals each one of all your diseases;
  • HE redeems (buys back, avenges, delivers, ransoms) your life from the pit and corruption;
  • HE beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercy!
  • …. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great are HIS mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.  (fear = reverence and awe)
  • As far as the east is from the west, so far has HE removed our transgressions from us (HE forgives us, and remembers our sin no more!).
 1 John 3:1 “See what (an incredible) quality of love the Father has given us that we should be named and called and counted the children of God!  And so we are!
