“The righteous cry out,
and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and
saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all;”
Psalm 34:17-19 (NIV)
Meditate on what this scripture is saying … when a believer cries out to God, especially while walking through the challenging, broken heart times … God hears you ~ even when you don’t ‘feel’ as if He hears, He does! In fact, 1 John 5:14-15 says “.. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
And then it continues to say: “And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
Think about it, God not only hears you, but He delivers! Delivers us out of distress and troubles. And, He comforts with His tender love and mercy!
Recently, during my second hospitalization in one week, frustrated and in quite some pain, I cried out to God. I knew in my heart that He heard me ~ but I didn’t know in advance how He would manifest His deliverance and comfort. That day, I was blessed in so many ways, but especially by an unexpected visitor, who along with a second shift, PCA spontaneously surrounded me, praying in the Spirit! It was beautiful, powerful and amazing. It strengthened my heart, and that night as I believed in my heart for healing, I was able to lift my leg, which for three days could not rise enough to slide a piece of paper under my foot! To God be the glory!! He heard my cry and He delivered me ~ so many times in so many ways!
And He hears your cry! So, no matter what you are facing or how broken your heart is, know that as you cry out to God, He cares, He loves you, He hears you and He comforts you in so many ways! As you allow Him into your heart, look with expectation for His wondrous comfort, wisdom and healing, so that you can in turn, share your testimony, His love and His comfort with others.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)
