Heard an interesting question today posed by Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller:
“How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?”
If Penn Jillette, a professed atheist, took the time to share the respect he had for a man who was so polite, courteous, honest, sane and respectful of him … who thought enough about him to share his faith and a pocket size Bible with him … why wouldn’t we do the same with our precious loved ones and others we meet in life? Is there anything more important?
Penn further said that if he knew a truck was coming toward you and you didn’t believe him, but he saw the truck bearing down toward you, there would be a certain point where he would tackle you. And eternity is so much more important than that!
Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
Penn Jillette’s words tackled me!
Do you know that you are precious in the eyes of God … unconditionally loved by Him despite what you may think or feel?
Do you realize that God is not interested in religion, but in a life changing relationship with you?
But because sin entered this world beginning with Adam and Eve and our free will, there is a chasm separating us from God. And, the only way to cross that chasm … is over a bridge! And that bridge is Jesus Christ ~ your bridge to victory. It’s a simple but powerful message.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God’s unconditional love is intended for everyone, no matter our past or our status. That love is for today and eternity.
John 3:16-17 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”
There is more to life than today ~ there is eternity. Have you crossed the bridge into the loving arms of God?
